I’m Kylie Smith (she/her), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) holding a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University (B.Comm). Additionally, I am a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and also hold a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation with the Human Resources Professionals Association.
I have specialized training and experiential knowledge in motivational interviewing, mourning, grief, and bereavement, crisis intervention, and perinatal and postpartum issues. I recognize the tremendous value in supporting individuals who may be facing challenges with processing grief – when things seem unfair, dark, and complex. Together we can gently upack all the thoughts, feelings, and emotions you may be feeling overwhelmed with. Additionally, I provide psychotherapy services to individuals by utilizing evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I know that we may each come to therapy for our own unique reasons, and promise to collaborate with you to explore the root of your concerns and develop a treatment specialized to your individual needs. My method is supportive and empathetic when working with clients to help you feel understood and empowered. It is my hope to encourage you to build better connections in your lives and manage your concerns in a healthy, constructive way.
