What Is Supervised Therapy?
Accessible Psychotherapeutic Care. Accessible Rates.
Our supervised clinicians are Master’s-level therapists completing their professional training under the direct clinical oversight of Christina Janiga — Registered Psychotherapist, EMDR Consultant (EMDR Canada & EMDRIA), and one of Ontario’s experienced trauma supervisors.
What this means for you: you receive the same trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that defines our practice’s approach and values — at a rate designed to remove barriers. Every session is reviewed. Every clinician is supported. Your care is never solitary.
This is not a compromise. This is a pathway.
Find Your Rate
We use a self-guided rate system. Read the descriptions below and choose the one that best reflects your current financial situation. There are no wrong answers — and no verification required. Choosing the rate that genuinely fits your life is what makes this sustainable for everyone.
- Full Rate $125 / session = This rate is right for you if: your basic needs are comfortably met and you have some financial cushion; you have employer benefits or extended health coverage that covers psychotherapy; you have savings or expendable income; cost is not a significant barrier to accessing care.
- Accessible Rate $100 / session = This rate is right for you if: your basic needs are met; you are employed or self-employed; you may have partial insurance coverage or limited savings; therapy is manageable but still a financial consideration; you don't experience significant financial hardship.
- Supported Rate $75 / session = This rate is right for you if: you are working but money is tight; rent, bills, or debt are a regular stress; you have limited or no savings; an unplanned expense would cause difficulty; a vacation or significant purchase requires active saving.
- Community Rate $60 / session = This rate is right for you if: meeting basic needs is sometimes difficult; you are on a reduced income, government assistance, or between employment; housing is unstable or a significant financial pressure; you have no savings or safety net; standard therapy rates are genuinely inaccessible.
Not sure which rate to choose? When in doubt, choose the one that lets you show up consistently without financial strain — that’s the rate that will serve your care best. Contact us at admin@christinajaniga.com with any questions.

Your Care Is Never Solitary
Every session your clinician holds is reviewed in weekly supervision with Christina Janiga. Christina is a Registered Psychotherapist, EMDR Consultant (EMDR Canada & EMDRIA), and one of Ontario’s trauma-focused supervisors. She has supervised clinicians for over five years and brings her full clinical expertise to every case discussed.
What this means for you: your care is informed by two clinicians, not one. Your clinician brings fresh energy, current training, and deep commitment. Christina brings years of clinical experience, trauma expertise, and rigorous oversight. The combination is something you won’t find at a standard private practice.

Is Supervised Therapy Right for You?
Our supervised clinicians work with a wide range of presenting concerns and are well-equipped to support many people. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you decide if this is the right fit.
This is a great fit if:
- Anxiety, stress, or burnout are affecting daily life
- You’re navigating perimenopause or postpartum adjustment
- Trauma, grief, or life transitions are present
- You want nervous system tools and somatic approaches
- You’re seeking affordable, accessible support in Burlington or virtually
- You have limited or no extended health benefits
- You’re open to working with a newer clinician supported by senior oversight
We may suggest another path if:
- Active suicidal ideation or current self-harm requiring crisis support
- Active psychosis or acute psychiatric instability
- Severe, active eating disorder requiring specialized care
- Complex addiction requiring concurrent addiction treatment
- You require EMDR reprocessing specifically — this is available with Christina or our certified team members

Frequently Asked Questions
Supervised means your clinician’s work is reviewed weekly by Christina Janiga, RP, an EMDR Consultant and registered clinical supervisor with over a decade of experience. You are never receiving care in isolation. In fact, having two clinicians involved in your care — your direct clinician and their supervisor — means your treatment is held with more oversight than a typical private practice session.
Most Ontario extended health benefit plans cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (RP(Qualifying)). Our supervised clinicians hold their own CRPO registration. We provide official receipts after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider. Check your plan’s psychotherapy benefit.
We use a self-guided system — no income verification, no awkward conversation. Read the descriptions in our ‘Find Your Rate’ section above and choose the one that genuinely reflects your current financial situation. If you’re unsure, choose the rate where you won’t have to think twice about attending each week. Consistent attendance matters far more than the rate you pay.
A supervised clinician is a Master’s-level therapist who has completed their academic training and is now building clinical hours toward full registration with the CRPO. The primary difference is experience volume and independent practice status — not competence, training quality, or the care you’ll receive. All our supervised clinicians are selected for their clinical skill, warmth, and alignment with Christina Janiga Psychotherapy’s approach.
Yes. You can review each clinician’s profile and book directly with the person whose approach and focus areas feel like the right fit. Not sure? Email us at admin@christinajaniga.com and we will help match you based on your presenting concerns, scheduling needs, and rate preferences.
Our supervised clinicians are trained in a range of evidence-based approaches including trauma-informed CBT, DBT, somatic awareness, attachment-based therapy, and nervous system regulation tools. They are trained in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and EMDR-adjacent resourcing techniques under Christina’s supervision. EMDR reprocessing itself is conducted by credentialed therapists on our team.
We are currently accepting new clients with no waitlist. In-person appointments in Burlington are available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Virtual appointments are available across Ontario with flexible scheduling. Book directly through Jane App or contact us to confirm availability.
If at any point your needs exceed what is appropriate for a supervised setting, your clinician and Christina will discuss this with you transparently and help connect you with the right support — whether that’s with another therapist on our team, a specialized program, or an external resource. You will never be left without a clear next step.
YOUR NEXT STEPS
Your nervous system deserves skilled, supervised support — at a rate that doesn’t add to your stress. We’re here, we’re currently accepting clients, and we’d be glad to help you find the right fit.
